Lady Bulldogs knock off Lady Jackets

ATLANTA — Jasmine Hassell scored 22 points and No. 8 Georgia held Georgia Tech to 30 percent shooting in a 60-50 victory over their in-state rival on Sunday.

Georgia Tech cut an 18-point deficit to six with less than two minutes left but the Lady Bulldogs (9-0) held on.

Tyaunna Marshall had 10 points for the Jackets (3-4).

In Spokane, Wash., Chiney Ogwumike had 21 points and 11 rebounds to help Stanford (8-0) beat Gonzaga (6-2).

In Durham, N.C., Tricia Liston had 22 points to help Duke (6-0) beat California (6-1).

In State College, Pa., Maggie Lucas scored 24 points and Penn State (6-1) overwhelmed Fairleigh Dickinson (1-5).

In Louisville, Ky., Janee Thompson scored all 13 of her points in the second half, including a 3-pointer with 8.4 seconds left, to lift Kentucky (6-1) over Louisville (8-1).

In Norman, Oklahoma, Aaryn Ellenberg scored 18 points to lead Oklahoma (7-1) over Marist (4-4).

In Knoxville, Tenn., Meighan Simmons scored a career-high 33 points and exceeded the 1,000-point mark for her career as Tennessee (6-1) trounced North Carolina (7-1).

In Los Angeles, Markel Walker had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead five players in double figures, and UCLA (4-1) beat Loyola Marymount (5-4).

In Lawrence, Kan., Carolyn Davis scored 20 helping Kansas (7-0) rally in the second half to beat Minnesota (6-3).

In Charlottesville, Va., Christal Caldwell scored 17 of her 19 points in the second half to rally West Virginia (4-2) past Virginia (5-2).

SOUTH CAROLINA 55, SETON HALL 42

In South Orange, N.J.. Aleighsa Welch had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Tiffany Mitchell added 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead South Carolina (9-0) past Seton Hall (3-5).

CLEMSON 87, JACKSONVILLE 58

In Clemson, S.C., Nikki Dixon had a career-high 25 points and nine rebounds to lead Clemson (1-6) past Jacksonville (3-4).
