Duke handles Wake Forest at Cameron Indoor Stadium

DURHAM, N.C. — Andre Dawkins scored all 21 of his points in the first half, and No. 4 Duke beat Wake Forest 91-73 on Thursday night for its 45th consecutive victory at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Dawkins hit seven 3s for the Blue Devils (16-2, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference).

C.J. Harris had 20 points for Wake Forest (10-8, 1-3).

NO. 8 NORTH CAROLINA 82, VIRGINIA TECH 68

In Blacksburg, Va., Harris­on Barnes scored nine of his 27 points during a 19-0 second-half run as the Tar Heels (16-3, 3-1 ACC) bounced back from a 33-point loss at Florida State with an victory over the Hokies (11-7, 0-4).

PENN STATE 54, NO. 22 ILLINOIS 52

In State College, Pa., Tim Frazier hit a floater in the lane with 8 seconds left and Jermaine Marshall blocked Sam Maniscalco’s layup at the buzzer to give Penn State (10-10, 2-5 Big Ten) the upset win over Illinois (15-4, 4-2).

VANDERBILT 69, ALABAMA 59

In Tuscaloosa, Ala., John Jenkins had 20 points and Jeffery Taylor scored 17 to help the resurgent Commodores (14-4, 4-0 South­eastern Conference) beat the Crimson Tide (13-5, 2-2) for its eighth consecutive win.

Alabama’s leading scorer Tony Mitchell, a former Swainsboro, Ga., standout, was held without a point.
