AIKEN --- Shahmel Brackett scored five points in the final 16 seconds to help UNC Pembroke upend Georgia Southwestern, 69-68, in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinals.
The Braves (18-10) will make their first appearance in the conference championship game today when they face regular-season champion Augusta State at 4:30 p.m.
"I really like how we're playing right now," UNC Pembroke coach Ben Miller said. "Augusta State has set the standard in the league. What coach (Dip) Metress has done replacing all five starters is remarkable.
"It's a great honor to be competing with them in a game of this magnitude."
Georgia Southwestern (20-8), the West Division champion, had a chance to win, but Bobby Glover missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Chimere Jordan scored a game-high 28 points to help Georgia College (21-6) advance to play No. 12 USC Aiken in today's women's title game at 2 p.m.
Georgia College shot 63 percent from the field in the second half and surged ahead thanks to the effort from Jordan.
Jordan shot 11 for 22 from the field while scoring 24 of her points in the second half. She added a game-high 15 rebounds and six assists. Dominique Huffin swished five 3-pointers to add 19 points.
Lander (27-3), which blew a 31-23 halftime lead, shot 37 percent from the game. Shannon McKever led Lander with 13 points and 11 boards.
