Georgia-Auburn to open SEC Tournament

Georgia will play Auburn at 1 p.m. Thursday in the opening game of the Southeastern Conference basketball tournament at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

The Bulldogs are the No. 4 seed in the East, while the Tigers are the No. 5 seed in the West.

In Thursday's second game, South Carolina will face Mississippi. The Gamecocks are the No. 6 seed in the East, while the Rebels are the No. 3 seed in the West.

The Georgia-Auburn winner will play West No. 1 seed Alabama in the quarterfinals at 1 p.m. Friday.

The South Carolina-Mississippi winner will play East No. 2 seed Kentucky in the quarterfinals at 3:30 Friday.
