Florida Atlantic head coach Howard Schnellenberger, once Mark Richt's coach at Miami, will face Georgia at Sanford Stadium in a 2012 matchup.

The home game, on Sept. 15, 2012, replaces a road game originally scheduled with Louisville and sets up what could be an intriguing coaching matchup between Georgia's Mark Richt and Florida Atlantic's Howard Schnellenberger .

Richt played quarterback for Schnellenberger, now 76, at Miami.

Florida Atlantic and Georgia have signed a memorandum of understanding to play on the same date that the Bulldogs were scheduled to play at Louisville.

Games with the Cardinals in 2011 and 2012 were canceled so Georgia could schedule Boise State to open next season in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.

SOUTH CAROLINA: Quarterback Stephen Garcia is walking around with his left arm in a sling, although coach Steve Spurrier says he should be fine for the Southeastern Conference championship game on Saturday.

Louisiana-Lafayette officially requested to talk with Monken late last week in hopes of filling its coaching vacancy created after the firing of Rickey Bustle , Georgia Southern athletic director Sam Baker said.

But after practice Tuesday, Monken squashed any rumors of his potential exit.
