Edwin Escobar pitches gem for red-hot GreenJackets

In Charleston, S.C., Edwin Escobar was masterful in his best outing of the season, and the surging Augusta GreenJackets knocked off the Charleston RiverDogs 4-0 on Sunday.

Escobar (6-7) allowed just one hit and a walk in 8⅔ innings and had nine strikeouts. He threw 109 pitches, 75 for strikes.

Kyle Vazquez came on in the ninth to get the final out for the GreenJackets, who have won three in a row and six of their past seven.

Devin Harris drove in two runs for Augusta, which opens a four-game series in Greenville tonight.
