Professional baseball player Bobby Haney, a member of the 2011 Augusta GreenJackets and 2010 College World Series Champion South Carolina Gamecocks, will arrive in Augusta Friday to promote his new book.

The newly released autobiography, "From Kings Park to Omaha," chronicles Haney's time as a baseball player from Little League to the College World Series. The 23-year-old, first-time author will hold a book signing at James Brown Arena during Friday night's Augusta RiverHawks minor league hockey game, according to a statement released by the GreenJackets.

"I wrote this book because I wanted to give young athletes all over the world inspiration toward achieving their goals and dreams," Haney said in the statement. "In addition, I also wanted parents to know how my mother and father guided me throughout my baseball career and made important decisions for me along the way."

Haney was a starting shortstop for the Gamecocks and was drafted in the 22nd round by the San Francisco Giants in 2010. He hit .236 this past summer in his first full season of professional ball and helped the GreenJackets win a second-half division title to reach the South Atlantic League playoffs.
