MARIETTA, Ga. — A coalition of Cobb County citizens’ groups are planning to ask that a decision to build a new $672 million stadium for the Atlanta Braves be postponed.

Cobb Citizens for Governmental Transparency are planning to deliver a letter to the Cobb County Board of Commissioners Monday asking that a vote on whether to move forward with a plan to build the new stadium and $400 million entertainment complex be postponed for 60 days.

Organizers say the extra time will give residents a chance to become fully informed.

Cobb Citizens for Governmental Transparency is planning news conferences to discuss its opposition at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

The commission is slated to consider the deal Tuesday. It calls for $300 million in public funds to help pay for the stadium.

This venture may still work

This venture may still work for the Braves and Cobb, but it sure reminds me of some age-old lessons:
1) Always leave "home" the right way, you never know if you may have to return
2) Don't burn your bridges; you may need to travel back to where you started from
