Rain forces suspension of GreenJackets doubleheader

  • Follow Baseball

The doubleheader between the Augusta GreenJackets and Charleston RiverDogs was suspended Sunday because of rain.

The two teams were scheduled to play two games after rain postponed Saturday’s game, but continuing rain showers forced a suspension of the first game of the doubleheader in the third inning. The GreenJackets led 2-0.

The suspended game will be completed Aug. 1 when the RiverDogs return to Augusta. A regularly scheduled game will begin following the first game.

The second game of Sunday’s doubleheader will be made up as part of a doubleheader Aug. 3. Both days will begin at 5:35 p.m.
