GreenJackets not used to opening season at home


The 2013 season begins tonight for the Augusta GreenJackets as they face the Lexington Legends at 7:05 at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

The GreenJackets are receiving a rare home series to begin the season, the first since 2008.

The GreenJackets are giving away magnetic schedules prior to tonight’s game. Friday’s game features postgame fireworks, which will be a promotion for each Friday home game.

Fans will have the opportunity to receive autographs and photos with the GreenJackets prior to Saturday’s game. Sunday’s 2:05 p.m. start is Kid’s Day, as the GreenJackets will give children pregame and postgame activities.

The team will not broadcast on the radio this season. Fans can keep track of games at, and when the GreenJackets are on the road at Lexington, Rome and Greenville, a subscription for gives viewers a live video broadcast of the game, as well as archived games from those locations.

In the event that rain halts a game before five full innings, the GreenJackets allow a ticket to be exchanged for any remaining game this season at equal or lesser value. Exchanges must be made at the box office or front office.

Individual tickets are $12 for box seats, $10 for reserved and $8 for general admission.
