Lions sweep doubleheader

Paine College 12-28, Voorhees 4-1

Paine College routed Voorhees in a doubleheader Tuesday at Lions Field, winning the opener 12-4 and taking the nightcap 28-1.

The victories evened Paine’s record at 2-2.

In Game 1, Jerek Wright picked up the victory, going the distance. He gave up four hits and four runs while striking out 10.

Right fielder Trey Bailey had three hits and three RBI.

In Game 2, Paine shortstop Jeremiah Schaffer had three hits, including a homer, and seven RBI. Catcher DeMarqus Sewell had four hits, including a triple, and five RBI.
