The former second baseman and University of South Carolina coach will sign autographs and pose for pictures. Copies of his book, Impact Player: Leaving a Lasting Legacy On & Off the Field, will be available for purchase.
The free event begins at 7 p.m. at the church’s Wesley Center, 639 Georgia Ave.
Richardson, a Sumter, S.C., native, became a Christian at age 12. He spent his entire 12-year professional baseball career with the Yankees and was named the 1960 World Series MVP.
As a coach at South Carolina. Richardson led the team to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 1974.
“Mr. Richardson was not only an outstanding athlete and coach at the University of South Carolina, but he is such an awesome Christian man with such a powerful testimony and faith journey,” said Bill Thweatt, the event coordinator.
Autographs on up to three personal baseball memorabilia items will be allowed.
