Clayton Blackburn (7-3) waited out the 30-minute delay that broke up the top of the third inning. The 19-year-old right-hander returned once the game resumed and gave Augusta seven innings.
Blackburn gave up a two-out, two-run triple to Brian Pointer on the last pitch before the rain delay but settled down to allow two runs on seven hits, one walk and nine strikeouts.
Kevin Couture hit a batter in the eighth but was otherwise perfect, and closer Kyle Vazquez faced the minimum in the ninth for his seventh save.
Lakewood (26-25, 52-68) committed a pair of infield errors in the bottom of the third that led to two unearned runs and allowed Augusta to tie the game. Arnold followed with his third homer of the year.
Wes Hodges doubled to start the sixth and came home on Kelby Tomlinson’s sacrifice fly.
The GreenJackets (25-25, 57-62) have won three of their last four games.
