GreenJackets game rained out

Heavy afternoon rain has forced the Augusta GreenJackets to postpone tonight’s scheduled game against the Greenville Drive at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

The two teams will make up the rained out game next month when the GreenJackets travel to Greenville for a three-game series starting Aug. 20.

Standing water in the outfield canceled batting practice at 4 p.m. and rain continued steadily throughout the afternoon.

Tickets to tonight’s game can be redeemed for admission to any remaining Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday home game this season.

The GreenJackets (11-9, 43-46) have won four in a row at home and will wrap up their current series with Greenville Friday night before playing host to the West Virginia Power in a four-game series starting Saturday.
