Pacers announce baseball staff moves

USC Aiken  head baseball coach Kenny Thomas announced the promotion of Jason Walck and the addition of DJ King to his coaching staff on Tuesday.

Walck has been promoted to head assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. King will join the Pacers as an assistant coach.

Walck is in his third season at USC Aiken baseball team. He serves as the Pacers’ hitting coach.

Prior to joining the Pacer coaching staff, Walck spent three seasons with the University of New Orleans coaching staff. For his final two seasons with the Privateers, Walck served as the first base coach and worked with the hitters and infielders.

King, who will serve as the Pacers’ pitching coach, spent the past three seasons at NCAA Division I Kennesaw State.

Prior to joining the Kennesaw State program, King served on the Andrew College coaching staff. In his final season, King was the assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator for the National Junior College Athletic Association program.

Prior to his coaching career, King won back-to-back state championships at Parkview High School where he played for legendary coach Hugh Buchanan. He played his collegiate ball at Chattahoochee Valley where he was an All-Conference pitcher. He concluded his playing career at Shorter College.
