GreenJackets fall to Tourists in 10 innings

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Samuel Mende scored the winning run on David Kandilas’ squeeze bunt single in the 10th inning, and the Asheville Tourists walked away with a 3-2 win over the Augusta GreenJackets on Sunday.

Asheville took four of five in the series.

Edwin Escobar pitched seven strong innings for Augusta, but didn’t factor in the decision. He allowed two runs on six hits and had six strikeouts.

Jesus Flores homered n the sixth for the GreenJackets, who have fallen back to .500  in the second half of the South Atlantic League season. Ben Thomas had an RBI single in the first.
