GreenJackets game rained out

Doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday at 5:05

Tonight’s series opener at Lake Olmstead Stadium between the Augusta GreenJackets and visiting Rome Braves has been called off due to rain.

More than four inches of rain soaked the stadium Sunday and more showers this morning made the already saturated field unplayable. Additional rain is in tonight’s forecast.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Tuesday starting at 5:05 p.m. The GreenJackets already have a doubleheader scheduled for Thursday against the Greenville Drive to make up an earlier rain out, meaning Augusta will play five home games in a three-day span.

Tickets to tonight’s game can be redeemed for admission to any remaining regular season home game. Because the game included an all-you-can eat promotion not offered at other games throughout the week, a Monday ticket redeemed for admission to a non-Monday game will come with a voucher for a free hot dog, drink and chips.
