GreenJackets to face Chipper Jones in Rome

Braves star making rehab appearance

Chipper Jones will make a minor league rehab appearance in Rome, Ga. against the Augusta GreenJackets this weekend, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The 40-year-old Braves third baseman, who said he will retire after this season, is eligible to come off the disabled list Friday as part of his continued recovery from minor surgery. He will play in the final two games of the series with Augusta on Saturday and Sunday.

Lefty Edwin Escobar (2-3, 3.92) is scheduled to start for Augusta in Saturday's game, which will start at 7:05 p.m.

Right-hander Joseph Biaini (0-3, 7.27) is the GreenJackets' scheduled starter for Sunday's 2:05 p.m. game.
