Augusta GreenJackets closer Cody Hall has earned a spot on the South Atlantic League’s Southern Division all-star team.

The league released the list of all stars this morning for its 53rd annual all-star game, which will be held June 19 in Charleston, S.C. Augusta was one of two teams in the league to have only one representative make the all-star list.

Hall (1-0, 2.33) holds a share of the league lead in saves with 10 despite missing the last two weeks with a strained oblique.

GreenJackets manager Lipso Nava said the 24-year-old right-hander is progressing in his recovery but didn’t have a specific time table for his return.

“He’s almost ready,” Nava said. “He’s on his throwing program. We don’t want to rush him, but obviously we need him.”

The GreenJackets (22-33) have lost five in a row and sit 17 games out of first place entering tonight’s three-game homestand with Northern Division-leading Greensboro.

Augusta also moved struggling infielder Carlos Willoughby to the inactive list today to make room for infielder Wes Hodges to join the team from Double-A Richmond.
