GreenJackets swept by last-place Braves

ROME, Ga. - Kyle Kubitza’s two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning lifted the Rome Braves to a 3-1 victory over the Augusta GreenJackets on Wednesday.

The Braves completed a three-game sweep of the GreenJackets, who have lost five in a row.

The loss spoiled a solid outing by Augusta starter Clayton Blackburn, who allowed just one run on five hits in seven innings. He had six strikeouts and didn’t issue a walk.

Greg Ross was sharp for Rome, giving up one unearned run on three hits in six innings. He had five strikeouts.
