Jimenez was pulled Saturday night from his start after pitching one inning against the San Diego Padres.

Jimemez says he was surprised he started. "Everybody knew it, even me," he said after his outing.

Jimenez, who allowed four runs on two hits with four walks and two strikeouts, said he was surprised he even pitched in the game.

In April 2010, Jimenez threw a no-hitter against Atlanta.

PHILLIES: Hunter Pence had an RBI single Saturday in his debut for Philadelphia in a 7-4 win over Pittsburgh after he was acquired from Houston on Friday night for three minor leaguers.

Pence wore No. 3, started in right field and batted fifth behind Ryan Howard. He was greeted with a standing ovation when he took the field in the first inning and when he batted for the first time in second. He hit .309 with 11 homers and 62 RBI with the Astros.

MARINERS: Seattle shipped right-handed starter Doug Fister and righty reliever David Pauley to Detroit for outfielder Casper Wells, infielder Francisco Martinez, left-hander Charlie Furbush and a player to be named later.

Both Fister and Pauley were packing their belongings into boxes in the Mariners clubhouse ahead of Saturday's game.

RED SOX: Boston acquired infielder Mike Aviles from the Kansas City Royals for infielder Yamaico Navarro and minor league pitcher Kendal Volz.

Aviles was batting .222 with five home runs and 31 RBI in 53 games with the Royals. He's expected to fill a utility infielder's role with the Red Sox.

RANGERS: Texas got some needed help for its bullpen.

The AL West leaders acquired right-hander Koji Uehara from Baltimore, sending right-hander Tommy Hunter and infielder Chris Davis to the Orioles. The Rangers also receives cash in the deal.

There had been no secret of the Rangers' desire to get a reliever.

BREWERS: Milwaukee acquired utilityman Jerry Hairston Jr. from the Washington Nationals for a prospect.
