BRAVES: Second baseman Dan Uggla made a rehab start Monday night for Triple-A Gwinnett as he comes back from eye surgery.
Uggla was 0 for 3 with two strikeouts against Nortolk.
Right-hander Freddy Garcia, recently acquired by the Braves, gave up eight runs in 3⅔ innings in his Gwinnett debut.
METS: Matt Harvey has a partially torn ligament in his right elbow, an injury the young ace hopes will not require surgery.
Harvey and general manager Sandy Alderson both say they we’re shocked when they were given the results of the MRI on Monday. The right-hander said he was dealing with forearm discomfort for some time and that it got worse after his start Saturday.
ATHLETICS: Placed right fielder Josh Reddick on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right wrist.
Oakland selected first baseman Daric Barton from Triple-A Sacramento. The A’s also designated right-handed relief pitcher Pat Neshek for assignment on Monday. Right-handed pitcher Evan Scribner was recalled from Sacramento to take Neshek’s roster spot.
MARINERS: Activated outfielder Franklin Gutierrez from the disabled list and recalled him from his rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Tacoma.
Seattle also designated right-hander Aaron Harang for assignment.
PHILLIES: Placed outfielder Casper Wells on the disabled list because of vision problems two days after he took the loss as an emergency pitcher.
