GreenJackets win in the 12th
In Lexington, Ky., Andrew Cain led off the top of the 12th with a homer to break a tie and the Augusta GreenJackets went on to beat the Lexington Legends 6-3 on Thursday night.
Mitch Delfino had an RBI single in the inning, and Travious Relaford tripled and scored on a fielder’s choice.
• In South Williamsport, Pa., Jorge Romero hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh, and Tijuana, Mexico, rallied past Aguadulce, Panama, 4-2 to earn a berth in the international championship game at the Little League World Series.
The game between Sammamish, Wash., and Westport, Conn., was rescheduled for today after a thunderstorm halted play for more than an hour during the Mexico-Panama game.
Gamecock Club meeting on tap
The Augusta Gamecock Club will hold its fifth annual Game Week Football Kickoff Meeting and social with Tony Morrell, of TheBig Spur.com, on Tuesday at Logans Roadhouse (269 Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway) in Augusta.
Social time and dinner (pay as you go menu and cash bar) will be from 6-7 p.m., with Morrell scheduled to speak at 7. All Gamecock fans are welcome.
Event scheduled in North Augusta
The Augusta Sports Council and The CSRA Ultimate Players Association will hold The Big Payback 5, the fifth annual coed regional Ultimate Frisbee event, at Riverview Park in North Augusta from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
More than 300 Ultimate Frisbee participants from 18 teams are scheduled to attend. Admission is free.
Color Run event to be held Oct. 5
The Color Run, an un-timed 5K race, presented by The Augusta Sports Council and the Westobou Festival, is scheduled for Oct. 5 at 9 a.m.
It is a unique paint race that celebrates happiness, healthiness and individuality. Color Runners can use “COLORAUGUSTA” to receive $5 off during registration at www.thecolorrun.com/augusta.
Runners begin at the parade grounds at the Old Academy of Richmond County wearing solid white clothing and finish in an explosion of color. Each kilometer of the event is associated with a designated color. As the participants reach the color zones and the finish line, they are sprayed by volunteers, sponsors and staff with a natural and safe powdered color substance.

Ex-Pacer tied for 12th in NGA play
In Stockbridge, Ga., former USC Aiken All-American Roberto Diaz shot 3-under-par 67 and is tied for 12th place after Thursday’s first round of the NGA Tour’s Eagles Landing Classic at Eagle’s Landing Country Club.
Kevin Aylwin opened with 63 and leads by two shots.
Former Augusta State golfers Major Manning and Tarik Can each shot 69.
Murray-Djokovic final not in cards
Defending champion Andy Murray could face top-seeded Novak Djokovic only in the U.S. Open semifinals, not in the finals, thanks to Thursday’s draw.
