Jackets select Goff as manager
The Augusta GreenJackets announced their coaching staff for the 2013 season, featuring a new manager.
Mike Goff will take over as manager after previously managing the Arizona League Giants from 2009-2011.
Steve Kline will return as pitching coach, while former GreenJacket Hector Borg will be hitting coach.
Goff managed the rookie league affiliate of the Giants to the best overall record in the league two consecutive seasons.
Kline returns as pitching coach after holding the position for the Class-A Advanced San Jose Giants in 2012. He was previously the coach for Augusta in 2010-2011.
Borg played for the GreenJackets in 2006.

RiverHawks end month with loss
In Fayetteville, N.C., the Augusta RiverHawks came up short against the Fayetteville FireAntz, losing 2-1 on Tuesday night to finish with a losing record for January.
The RiverHawks, who are 11-22-3 overall, finished 5-6 for the month.
Matt Auffrey had Augusta’s goal, which tied it at 1 in the second period. Fayetteville’s Josh McQuade followed 21 seconds later with the game-winner.
Augusta goalie Robert Moss stopped 28 of 30 shots. Fayettteville’s Marco Emond stopped 36 of 37.
Lady Jags earn national ranking
For the first time in nine seasons, the Augusta State women’s basketball team is nationally ranked.
The 14-2 Lady Jaguars are 24th in the latest USA Today/ESPN Division II top-25 Coaches’ Poll.
USC Aiken (15-2) is ranked sixth for the second consecutive poll.
Augusta State’s 2003-04 team, which posted a school-record 24 victories en route to an NCAA Elite Eight appearance, finished that season ranked No. 10 in the country in the final poll on April 21, 2004.
“It’s another big step in the right direction for this program,” said third-year Augusta State coach Nate Teymer.
Bruins rally for win over Devils
In Boston, Brad Marchand scored the decisive shootout goal after teammate Nathan Horton forced overtime late in the third period and the Boston Bruins rallied for a 2-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night.
• In New York, Henrik Lundqvist made 26 saves to lift the New York Rangers to a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.
• In Buffalo, Matt Frattin scored his second goal of the game with 1.5 seconds left in overtime, lifting the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
• In Pittsburgh, Matt Moulson scored a goal and assisted on another and the New York Islanders beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-1.
Pacers projected to finish second
USC Aiken is picked to finish second and Augusta State 12th in the Peach Belt Conference preseason poll.
For the second year in a row, Francis Marion was picked by the conference head coaches to win Peach Belt title.
Francis Marion had seven first-place votes and finished with 137 points in the poll, seven ahead of USC Aiken.
USC Aiken claimed two first-place votes, seven second-place votes, two third-place votes and one fourth-place vote.
