Evans’ Yi takes title in playoff
In Charleston, S.C., Evans’ Eunice Yi held off a charge from Katelyn Dambaugh to win the Beth Daniel Junior Azalea on the first hole of sudden death.
Yi shot 1-under-par 70 on Wednesday to finish at 5-under 137 with Dambaugh, who closed with 64 at Charleston Country Club.
Strom Thurmond High’s McKenzie Talbert tied for fifth at 71-73-144 while Aiken’s Taylor Ann Dodd shot 72-74–146.
Bryce Howell, of Blythewood, S.C., won the boys title. He shot 69-68–137 to beat four players by a shot.
Aiken’s Hayden Ploeger shot 74-74–148, Augusta’s Carson Spears had 71-77–148 and Aiken’s Ryan Carpenter shot 78-75–153.

Jackets prevail on Galindo’s hit
In Salisbury, Md., Jesus Galindo’s two-single in the ninth inning lifted the Augusta GreenJackets to a 3-2 victory over Delmarva on Wednesday night.
In the bottom of the inning, Augusta’s Kevin Couture struck out Glynn Davis with two outs and a man on second to end the game.
Augusta moved to within a game of the .500 mark at 22-23 in the second half of the South Atlantic League season.
Hawks let Triche go after 23 years
Longtime Atlanta Hawks vice president of public relations Arthur Triche has been fired.
Triche had been with the Hawks since 1989 as the team’s top contact for media.
The Hawks on Wednesday called Triche’s exit “a personnel decision” but did not release a statement on the move.
Hawks general manager Danny Ferry had no comment.
Triche previously worked as a media relations assistant with the Detroit Lions and in the sports information departments at Tulane and Louisiana State University.
Triche could not be reached for comment. He posted on his Twitter account “It’s been real folks” on Wednesday.
• Dwyane Wade’s recovery from knee surgery is right on schedule, and the All-Star guard expects to be ready to go when the Miami Heat open the defense of their NBA championship.
• The Chicago Bulls have signed first-round draft pick Marquis Teague.
Teague was taken with the 29th selection out of Kentucky and is expected to fill a backup role at point guard.
The Bulls signed Kirk Hinrich and Nate Robinson in an effort to get by while Derrick Rose recovers from a major knee injury.
Teague averaged 10.0 points and 4.8 assists to help Kentucky win a national title in his lone season. Older brother Jeff plays for Atlanta.
• The Cavaliers signed C.J. Miles.
Miles, 25, both a guard and forward, averaged 9.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 20.5 minutes per game last season for Utah. He scored a season-high 27 points in 27 minutes off the bench in a Jazz win over Houston Feb. 29th.
Flyers, Bourdon agree on terms
The Philadelphia Flyers re-signed defenseman Marc-Andre Bourdon to a multi-year contract extension, and agreed with center Scott Laughton on an entry-level contract.
The news comes a day after Philadelphia’s defense took another hit, when Andrej Meszaros underwent surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon.
