PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Vaughn Taylor of Evans shot 31 on the front nine en route to a second-round 66 today at The Honda Classic.

Taylor is currently tied for second at 6-under, two shots behind clubhouse leader Tom Gillis. Brian Harman, who posted a course-record 61 to match Taylor at 6-under.

Because of his slow start to the season, Taylor got reshuffled on the PGA Tour's priority list. He would not have qualified for this event, but Taylor won the Monday qualifier.

"I played well," Taylor said. "I felt good out there and hit a lot of good shots. I just played solid."

Through two rounds, Taylor's hit 22 of 28 fairways and 26 of 36 greens. He's needed 27 putts each day, closing his second round with a 12-foot downhill birdie putt at the ninth hole.
