Penguins win in shootout

DALLAS — Left winger Pascal Dupuis converted in the fourth round of the shootout and the Pittsburgh Penguins won their fourth in a row, 4-3 over the
Dallas Stars on Wednesday night.

Dupuis fired past Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen and Pittsburgh goalie Marc-Andre Fleury denied Michael Ryder’s attempt to clinch the extra point.

James Neal and Chris Kunitz also scored in the shootout for Pittsburgh. Loui Eriksson and Jamie Benn countered for Dallas.

Craig Adams and Kunitz scored over a 47-second span of the third period to make it 3-2 Pittsburgh. But Ryder’s 26th goal tied it at 3 at 7:23 of the third.

In Chicago, Marian Hossa scored twice as struggling Chicago overcame an early two-goal deficit and defeated Toronto to end a three-game losing streak.

Hossa’s goal late in the second period gave the Blackhawks their first lead at 4-3. He added an empty-net goal with 16 seconds left that turned out to be the game-winner after Toronto’s Mike Brown scored with 4 seconds remaining.

Patrick Kane had a goal and an assist for the Black­hawks, and rookies Marcus Kruger and Andrew Shaw also scored for Chicago.
