Locals in hunt for PGA Tour card at Q-School

Four golfers with local ties are in the hunt for their 2012 PGA Tour card today in the final round of Q-School at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif.

Vaughn Taylor of Evans is 3-under through 11 holes today and tied for sixth place at 14-under, two shots off the lead. Aiken's Kevin Kisner,  is -5 through 15 holes and tied for 12th place at 12-under with Swainsboro, Ga., native Will Claxton (-1 thru 11).

Augusta's Scott Parel is 2-over through 13 holes and is 7-under for the event. He is tied for 30th place.

The top 25 golfers and ties at the end of today's play will receive their PGA Tour card for next season. The following number of players nearest 50 will receive fully-exempt status for the 2012 Nationwide Tour season. The remaining players will receive conditional status on the Nationwide Tour in 2012.
