An Aiken dog handler didn't advance to the finals of the 135th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on Tuesday, but she was still in good spirits.
"She's flying high," said Charles Grice, the husband of Vivian Grice, who went to New York with Boykin spaniels Allie and Woody. "She's enjoying it."
This is the first year that the breed was entered at the world-famous dog show.
In another first, the big winner Tuesday night was a Scottish deerhound. Five-year-old Foxcliffe Hickory Wind was named best in show, the first Scottish deerhound to get the nod.
