- The Orville White Cup, the ninth of 10 Regions Bank Amateur Series events this season, will be held Aug. 7-8 at Midland Valley Country Club in Graniteville. To enter, call (803) 663-7332.

- The Jones Creek Classic will be held Aug. 21-22 at Jones Creek Golf Club in Evans. This is the final Regions Bank Amateur Series event of the season and will determine the teams for the Regions Cup Matches. To enter, call (706) 860-4228.

- The 12th annual Celebrity Golf Tournament will be held at Midland Valley Golf Club on Sept. 10 . Entry fee is $100. Football

- The Greater Augusta Bulldog Club will hold its annual Kickoff Meeting on Aug. 19 at Julian Smith Casino. This year's meeting will feature a tribute to former coach Vince Dooley. Dooley will hold a book signing at Sacred Heart Cultural Center earlier that day. The Bulldog Club meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and include a fish fry. The host and emcee will be Kevin Butler. Those scheduled to attend include Loran Smith, Dan McGill, Claude Felton and several Georgia lettermen. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and younger. They can be purchased at Tudor's Cleaners, Surrey Center Pharmacy and all Queensborough National Bank locations in Richmond and Columbia counties.
