The event is free to children 2 to 13 years of age. Bring a pole, rod and reel and some bait. Jumping games, hula hoop contest, bean bag toss, nickels in the hay gamer, dunking booth and other activities. Participants must register at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Evans from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Sept. 14. Online registration is available at or the morning of the event from 8 until 8:30. Free lunch will be provided.

The Georgia Southern University Bass Anglers, in association with the Clarks Hill Fish for Life Foundation, will play host to the tournament.

Entry fee is $70, with $10 going to the big fish pot. First-place winners get a guaranteed $2,500. The payout will pay one place for every 10 boats entered. Tournament hours are safe light until 3 p.m. Sponsors include Bobby Jones Ford-Lincoln, Hayes Marine, Walmart, Academy Sports and Outdoors and Aaron’s.

Pre-registration will be held Oct. 11 at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Evans from 5-7 p.m. Donations are welcome throughout the event. Door prizes will be given out during weigh-in. For more information, call Georgia Southern bass fishing team president Jonathan Rotureau at (912) 655-1250.
