The fishing tournament begins on the river at safe light and concludes at 3 p.m. There will be a 100 percent payback in four categories (panfish, catfish, largemouth bass, striper/hybrid bass) and the big fish pot. Entry fee is $50 per boat with a $10 big fish pot fee. Tonight features music by The Shaw Creek Boys and the Fort Gordon Band, with gospel music and Palmetto Groove on Saturday night. Angler of the Year Fish-Off

The top points holder from each divisional championship will be invited to compete in the Angler of the Year Final Round. Practice round is Oct. 21. Weigh-ins will be held at Billy Dreher Island State Park on Lake Murray. First prize is a Triton/Mercury boat package. Registration will be held at 4:30 p.m. at Lake Murray Country Visitors Center in Columbia, S.C. Contestants must attend a mandatory meeting at 5 p.m., at the same place the same day. Contestants must furnish an observer/rider who must qualify under American Bass Anglers rules.
