Holley leads Pacers to win over Tigers

In Columbia, Myles Holley recorded a double-double and USC Aiken pulled away in the second half to beat Benedict 76-61 on Tuesday night.

Holley had 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Pacers (3-0).

Benedict's Kennie Eberhart , an Augusta native, led all scorers with 22 points.


Norlander finishes 4th in tournament

In El Paso, Texas, Augusta State's Henrik Norlander fired a final-round, 6-under 65 at El Paso Country Club and moved up seven spots in the Western Refining College All-America Classic.

At 8-under 205, Norlander tied for fourth with UCLA's Gregor Main , four strokes back of winner Alex Ching, of San Diego.

Former Westside High School star Logan Gaines , who currently plays for South Georgia College, has signed to play at Mercer.

Dodson tops Talbert to win event by one

In Hartsville, S.C., South Aiken High School golfer Taylor Dodson beat Strom Thurmond standout McKenzie Talbert by one stroke at the South Carolina Junior Golf Association Players Championship on Saturday.

Dodson had rounds of 67 and 70 to finish at 7-under par 137 at Hartsville Country Club. Talbert, a two-time state champion, carded 68-70--138 in the girls 14-18 division.

Katherine Stewart , Dodson's teammate at South Aiken, tied for 21st with 169.

North Augusta's Matthew NeSmith finished third in the boys 15-16 division, with rounds of 68 and 73. He was two shots behind Townville's Austin Langdale .

CJ Liner , of North Augusta, had rounds of 76 and 73 to finish tied for 15th in the division.

Hendrick shuffles three team lineups

Hendrick Motorsports dramatically shuffled its lineup by moving three crew chiefs to new drivers.

Only five-time champion Jimmie Johnson and crew chief Chad Knaus were kept intact.

The new pairings put crew chief Steve Letarte with Dale Earnhardt Jr. , crew chief Alan Gustafson with Jeff Gordon and crew chief Lance McGrew with Mark Martin .
