Decision on Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers to come Friday

Aaron Rodgers looked fine on the practice field Thursday. It doesn’t mean he is going to play.

There was no definitive word on whether the Green Bay quarterback will be medically cleared to return from his left collarbone injury in time for Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh.

Coach Mike McCarthy indicated he would name his starter today.

Rodgers made several references to his playing status being an “organizational decision.”

“Obviously, today he’s still not medically cleared,” McCarthy said. “Looked very good at practice. I would state him ready to play.”

LIONS: Reggie Bush said lack of discipline has hurt the team during a span in which it has lost four of five games and ceded control of its playoff destiny.

“It could be from penalties or it could be from turnovers or it could be from how we finished the games in fourth quarters,” the running back said. “It’s not one specific play or moment in a game. It’s the total game. It’s how we play.”

Bush, however, pinned the team’s discipline problems on the players and not coach Jim Schwartz, whom he called a “disciplinarian.”

Schwartz said that he wasn’t aware of Bush’s comments but that he doesn’t believe the Lions have a discipline problem.

GIANTS: Wide receiver Victor Cruz will miss the rest of the season after having surgery on his left knee.

Cruz had an arthroscopic debridement of the knee Thursday afternoon in Pensacola, Fla., on the injury he sustained last weekend against Seattle.

The Giants (5-9) have two games left.

SEAHAWKS: Cornerback Brandon Browner vowed to continue to fight his indefinite suspension for a violation of the league’s substance-abuse policy, which was officially announced Wednesday.

The cornerback’s agent, Peter Schaffer, told that Browner will sue the NFL if other attempts at overturning the suspension are unsuccessful.

“We will continue to exhaust all administrative remedies,” Schaffer said. “If not successful, we will sue the living daylights out of the league.”
