The Green Bay Packers released defensive end Jarius Wynn, a former Lincoln County star.

NFL teams were required to trim their rosters to 75 players Monday.

Wynn, who was drafted by the Packers in the sixth round of the 2009 draft, had 19 tackles and three sacks in 16 games last season.

BILLS: Vince Young was too inconsistent to win the backup job, so now the team’s giving Tarvaris Jackson a shot to prove himself.

The Bills shuffled backup quarterbacks by completing a deal to acquire Jackson in a trade with Seattle. They then cut Young. The moves coincided with the Seahawks deeming Jackson expendable after naming rookie Russell Wilson their starter.

LIONS: Former Georgia star Matthew Stafford lined up with the first team at practice Monday and showed no real sign of being limited by the injury to his non-throwing hand.

EAGLES: Michael Vick was back at practice after leaving last Monday’s game with injured ribs. He didn’t play in Friday’s game at Cleveland, but returned to the field Sunday night for Philadelphia’s annual practice party at Lincoln Financial Field.

“I think he’s real close to 100 percent,” offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said. “I thought he threw the ball last night just beautifully; threw it strong and aggressively. So, I think he’s ready to rock and roll. That’s my point on that. I think he’s ready to go.”

CARDINALS: Thirteen days before the regular-season opener and Arizona still have no starting quarterback.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt said he’s not ready to announce whether Kevin Kolb or John Skelton will start the Sept. 9 game against Seattle.

The Cardinals are the only team in the NFL that hasn’t selected a starter.

DOLPHINS: Left tackle Jake Long left practice after injuring his right knee during an 11-on-11 drill. Coach Joe Philbin declined to discuss the severity of the injury

REDSKINS: Right tackle Jammal Brown is recovering from another hip surgery, putting him out for the first six games of the regular season.
