Vikings' Adrian Peterson doubtful for game against Falcons

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game at Atlanta because of a high ankle sprain.

Peterson hasn’t practiced all week after hurting his left ankle in last week’s game in Oakland.

He was carted off the sideline Sunday and had been in a walking boot for three days this week. Peterson is sixth in the NFL in rushing with 872 yards.

Toby Gerhart, the 2009 Heisman Trophy runner-up in his senior season at Stanford, would start in Peterson’s absence. Minnesota coach Leslie Frazier said Lorenzo Booker could also see some time at running back.

LIONS: Ndamukong Suh’s stomp in Thursday’s game that led to the Detroit defensive lineman’s ejection will be reviewed by the league next week.

An NFL spokesman says plays from Week 12 that would be reviewed for potential discipline will be done under normal circumstances, after all games are completed.

• Running back Jahvid Best, who has been bothered by concussion problems, is going on season-ending injured reserve.

EAGLES: Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick threw for the second consecutive day, did not take part in any practice drills on Friday, and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game with the New England Patriots.

Vick, bothered by broken ribs, is one of four Eagles players and one of three key starters who could miss the game.

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (hamstring), cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha (knee) and backup offensive lineman King Dunlap (concussion) could also sit out.

PACKERS: Green Bay outside linebacker Erik Walden was arrested Friday on suspicion of felony domestic violence/substantial battery and will remain in the Brown County Jail until at least Monday.

Walden allegedly assaulted his live-in girlfriend at the couple’s apartment in Lawrence, just outside of Green Bay.

TITANS: Tennessee declared linebacker Barrett Ruud out against his former team Tampa Bay because of to a groin injury.

Ruud aggravated the injury last week against Atlanta.

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck worked fully Friday and is probable to start. Kicker Rob Bironas is probable after resting a sore back.

PANTHERS: Wide receiver Legedu Naanee missed his second consecutive day of practice because of an Achilles tendinitis in his left leg, meaning Brandon LaFell could make his first start of the season Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
