The number of go-to targets for Peyton Manning is shrinking.
Pro Bowl tight end Dallas Clark was put on injured reserve Friday and will have season-ending wrist surgery. Clark said he met with three surgeons before the decision and plans to return next year for a ninth season.
Clark ranks third on the team with 37 catches for 347 yards after catching 100 passes for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, when he made the All-Pro team.
FINES: The NFL fined Minnesota defensive end Ray Edwards $20,000 for spearing Dallas running back Marion Barber last Sunday.
The hefty fine was handed out Friday and cited Edwards as a repeat offender. He was fined Aug. 28 for roughing the passer and Sept. 26 for unnecessary roughness.
New Orleans cornerback Malcolm Jenkins was also fined $10,000 for a hit to the head area of Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman .
Tennessee defensive end William Hayes was fined $10,000 for a late hit, while teammate Dave Ball was docked $5,000 for roughing the passer against Jacksonville.
San Diego Chargers linebacker Antwan Barnes was fined $5,000 for unnecessarily striking St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford in the chest and neck.
PACKERS: After not sacking Brett Favre once in two losses to the Vikings last year, the Green Bay defense feels it's ready for Sunday night's showdown, as they welcome back NFL sacks leader Clay Matthews .
TITANS: Quarterback Vince Young missed his third consecutive practice with a sprained left knee and ankle and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
JAGUARS: It looks like journeyman Todd Bouman will make his first start in nearly five years.
Jacksonville ruled out starter David Garrard on Friday because of a concussion and listed backup Trent Edwards as questionable with a badly sprained thumb on his throwing hand. That leaves Bouman as the healthiest and most knowledgeable option on the roster.
