STATESBORO, Ga. — In what shaped up as a clash of titans, it was clear that one team stood above the rest.
Undefeated Cross Creek took on one-loss South Effingham Friday night in the Region 3-AAAA title game, but the Lady Razorbacks’ unbeaten record was never in jeopardy as they cruised to an 84-70 win and the region championship.
Cross Creek (27-0) featured four girls with 10 or more points. Tia Pullens, Kaela Patrick and Jasmine Kilgore all reached double digits before halftime.
Tianna Germain – who led all scorers with 32 points – continued her great season for the Lady Mustangs (26-2), but her solo effort didn’t stand a chance against the relentless Razorbacks’ offense. Cross Creek went up by as much as 24 points early in the second half.
With the win, Cross Creek claims a No. 1 seed in the upcoming Class AAAA state playoffs. The Razorbacks will take on the No. 4 seed out of Region 2-AAAA in the first round of the state tournament.
