Inbee Park leads Kraft Nabisco Championship

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. — Inbee Park took the second-round lead Friday in the Kraft Nabisco Championship, making three birdies in a row early on the back nine.


Finishing in gusty conditions on another hot afternoon at Mission Hills, the 24-year-old South Korean player shot 5-under-par 67 to reach 7-under.

American Lizette Salas was a stroke back after 68, and Sweden’s Carolina Hedwall and Italy’s Giulia Sergas followed at 5-under. Hedwall shot 68, and Sergas had 69.

Former Columbia County resident Ashlan Ramsey, who was three shots off the lead after an opening 71, shot 75 on Friday and is now nine back. The teenager is now tied for 42nd place.

WEB.COM TOUR: In Sao Paulo, New Zealand’s Danny Lee fired a second consecutive 6-under-par 65 and moved into sole possession of the clubhouse lead in the rain-delayed Brazil Classic.

Following a 3 ½-hour rain delay to start play, Lee rattled off eight birdies at the Sao Paulo Golf Club and settled in at 12-under 130.

He’s five shots better than anyone else who has completed 36 holes.

African Dawie van der Walt (66), Australia’s Aron Price (65) and local pro Phillipe Gasnier (68) are done at 7-under 135.

Half the field is still on the course and will return early this morning.

Sweden’s Richard S. Johnson is 4-under thru 11 holes and is 10-under par for the tournament, tops among those still playing.

Jonathan Hodge, Tim Wilkinson and Sao Paulo native Alex Rocha are all 7-under par with plenty of holes to go.
