ATLANTA — Monet Tellier scored 24 points as Virginia Tech defeated Georgia Tech 63-61 on Friday night.
Aerial Wilson added 11 points and Alyssa Fenyn 10 for the Hokies (8-14, 2-9 Atlantic Coast Conference).
Tyaunna Marshall had 15 points, six rebounds and four assists for Georgia Tech (10-13, 3-9).
NO. 5 DUKE 62, VIRGINIA 41
In Charlottesville, Va., Haley Peters scored 16 points and Duke (21-1, 11-0 ACC) used a 21-5 run spanning the halves to overcome a slow start and win its 20th consecutive game against Virginia (14-8, 6-5).
The burst turned a 22-13 deficit into a 34-27 lead for Duke. After Virginia closed within four at 34-30, Duke scored nine of the next 11 points and cruised to victory.
Ataira Franklin led Virginia with 15 points.
NO. 7 MARYLAND 73, WAKE FOREST 63
In Winston-Salem, N.C., Tianna Hawkins and Alyssa Thomas each scored 23 points and Maryland (19-3, 10-1 ACC) held on to beat pesky Wake Forest (10-13, 3-8).
Malina Howard added 12 to help the Terrapins sweat out their ninth consecutive win.
They shot 54 percent, built a 20-point lead and then blew nearly all of it during a dizzying series of mistakes before regrouping.
