Three Crimson Tide players leaving school early

Tailback Eddie Lacy, cornerback Dee Milliner and right tackle D.J. Fluker are entering the NFL Draft after helping leadAlabama to a second consecutive national title.

Lacy and Milliner announced their plans to skip their senior seasons Friday at a news conference. Fluker couldn’t be there for the announcement because he was traveling.

It’s another exodus of talented underclassmen for a team that has won three of the past four national titles.

GEORGIA: New defensive line coach Chris Wilson will make an annual salary of $250,000, according to information obtained in an open records request.

Wilson coached the defensive line the past three seasons at Mississippi State and was defensive coordinator the past two.

SYRACUSE: Scott Shafer was introduced Friday as the new coach of the Orange, and he vowed to continue what Doug Marrone started.

ACC SCHEDULE: The conference has launched a football scheduling model for the arrival of Pittsburgh and Syracuse this fall.

The league says each ACC team will play an eight-game schedule, with six coming within its division. Of the two cross-divisional games, one will be against the same scheduling partner every season and the other will rotate every year.

The Atlantic Division members will play host their primary partners from the Coastal Division this fall, while the Coastal teams will host games with their rotating cross-divisional opponents. As a result, six games will return to the same site as last year’s matchup.

Pittsburgh heads to the Coastal, Syracuse to the Atlantic and the two will play every year as primary partners in the 14-team league.

The ACC releases team schedules in February.
