James Michael McAdoo finished with 14 points and Reggie Bullock had 11 for North Carolina, which lost its first two league games for the first time since 2008-09.
In Nashville, Tenn., Kyle Wiltjer’s jumper with 1:57 left put Kentucky ahead to stay, and the Wildcats kicked off their Southeastern Conference schedule by holding off Vanderbilt (6-7) after blowing a 16-point lead.
