New Georgia State football coach is selected

Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott says the conference is at an “optimal size” and is unlikely to expand in the foreseeable future.


While other leagues pursue further expansion, Scott said before Friday night’s conference championship between No. 8 Stanford and No. 17 UCLA that members are happy with its current size – for now.

He also said so-called 16-team “super conferences” would not force the league to expand.

MISSOURI: Defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson will enter the NFL Draft, the Tigers announced Friday.

Richardson, a junior, led all defensive tackles in the SEC with 75 tackles this season. He had 10½ tackles for loss, four sacks, forced three fumbles and blocked a kick.

COURTS: A Minnesota football coach sidelined by accusations of child pornography involving his own children reacted with relief Friday after a judge dismissed the case. Todd Hoffner, the head coach at Minnesota State-Mankato, was effectively cleared when a judge agreed with his assertion that innocent family videos had been misinterpreted.
