DURHAM, N.C. — Freshman Duke Johnson rushed for season highs of 176 yards and three touchdowns, Stephen Morris had three passing scores and Miami held on to beat Duke 52-45 on Saturday and claim a share of the ACC’s Coastal Division title.
Morris finished 15 of 25 for 369 yards for the Hurricanes (7-5, 5-3).
Miami was playing its first game since announcing earlier in the week that it would stay home from the postseason for the second consecutive year because of an NCAA investigation that is expected to lead to stiff sanctions against it.
NORTH CAROLINA 45,
In Chapel Hill, N.C., Bryn Renner tied a school record with five touchdown passes, while Gio Bernard ran for 163 yards and a score to help North Carolina (8-4, 5-3) beat Maryland (4-8, 2-6).
North Carolina won eight games for the second time in three seasons but is banned from a bowl because of NCAA sanctions.

BOSTON COLLEGE 10
In Raleigh, N.C., Mike Glennon threw three touchdown passes and David Amerson returned an interception for a score as North Carolina State (7-5, 4-4) defeated Boston College (2-10, 1-7).
Glennon connected twice for touchdowns with Tobais Palmer in a span of 51 seconds late in the third quarter. Glennon finished 24 of 37 for 230 yards.
VIRGINIA TECH 17,
In Blacksburg, Va., Cody Journell kicked a 29-yard field goal with 4 seconds to play, and Virginia Tech (6-6, 4-4) beat Virginia (4-8, 2-6) to qualify for a bowl game.
Antone Exum set up the winning drive when he intercepted Michael Rocco at the Cavaliers’ 36 with 3:21 remaining.
Exum brought it back to the 24, and Virginia held on to two timeouts as the Hokies ran the clock down. The Cavaliers used both timeouts to try to freeze Journell.
