Kentucky favored to win NCAA Tournament

Las Vegas casinos like top seed Kentucky better than all the other teams in the NCAA Tournament but think Ohio State is better than any of the other No. 1s.

Oddsmaker Mike Colbert of Cantor Gaming said Kentucky is a 5-2 favorite to win despite losing the Southeastern Conference championship to Vanderbilt.

Colbert says Ohio State at 6-1 is the second favorite.

GEORGIA TECH: The team is reviewing the status of suspended player Glen Rice Jr. after he and a graduate student manager were charged in a shooting outside an Atlanta nightclub shortly before the ACC tournament.

Coach Brian Gregory said the manager, London Warren, is no longer with the program. Rice, a 6-foot-5 junior guard and son of the former NBA star, was suspended last month for an unspecified violation of team rules.

Gregory said neither was with the team when it lost to Miami in the opening round.

According to a police report, an officer received a call early Thursday of a shot fired near a nightclub.

The officer said he pulled over a Cadillac Escalade and recovered two handguns from inside. No one was hurt. Warren
was charged with DUI, while Rice was charged with permitting unlawful operation.

ALL-SEC: Kentucky took a clean sweep of the awards on The Associated Press All-SEC team. Freshman forward Anthony Davis was a unanimous choice for player of the year and newcomer of the year, while John Calipari took the coaching honor.

Davis is joined on the first team by Vanderbilt junior guard John Jenkins. The first team also includes Kentucky forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Mississippi State’s Arnett Moultrie and Dee Bost.
