KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Brittney Griner had a career-high 45 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots, leading No. 1 Baylor (34-0) to an 86-65 rout of Kansas State (19-13) on Friday in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals.
The junior phenom finished 19 of 28 from the field to better her career scoring mark of 41 points, set in the Lady Bears’ regular-season finale against Iowa State. Her total also set the single-game record for the women’s Big 12 Tournament.
NO. 2 STANFORD 52, ARIZONA STATE 43
In Los Angeles, Nnemkadi Ogwumike had 24 points and 12 rebounds, and Stanford overcame its worst shooting of the season to beat Arizona State in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals.
Ogwumike’s younger sister, Chiney, added 12 points and 13 rebounds for the top-seeded Cardinal (30-1), who advanced to today’s title game at Staples Center in pursuit of their ninth tournament championship.
NO. 7 DELAWARE 74, OLD DOMINION 54
In Upper Marlboro, Md., Elena Delle Donne had 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Delaware defeated Old Dominion to move into the semifinals of the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament.
Trumae Lucas scored 14 on 7 for 9 shooting, and Lauren Carra and Jocelyn Bailey had 12 points apiece to help the Blue Hens earn their 18th consecutive win.
NO. 10 GREEN BAY 73, ILLINOIS-CHICAGO 53
In Green Bay, Wis., Adrian Ritchie scored 22 points to lead Wisconsin-Green Bay into the championship game of the Horizon League Tournament with a win over Illinois-Chicago.
Julie Wojta, the Horizon Player of the Year, had 13 points and 10 rebounds for her 33rd career double-double – a school record since the Phoenix (29-1) joined Division I in 1987.
NO. 22 TEXAS A&M 79, OKLAHOMA 66
In Kansas City, Mo., Kelsey Bone’s 16 points led Texas A&M past Oklahoma in the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament.
The third-seeded Aggies (22-9) will face top-ranked Baylor for the title today.
Skylar Collins scored 15 points, Alexia Standish 13 and Sydney Carter 10 for Texas A&M.
