SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Devereaux Peters had 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 4 Notre Dame to a 66-47 win over Providence on Tuesday night.
Skylar Diggins finished with 19 points and seven assists for the Irish (25-2, 12-1 Big East), who shot 48 percent from the field and outrebounded the Friars 41-25. Peters’ eighth double-double of the season helped Notre Dame outscore Providence 40-26 in the paint.
The Irish also bounced back from an upset loss to West Virginia on Sunday.
Providence (13-13, 5-8) played much of the first half without leading scorer and rebounder Teya Wright, who appeared to injure her ankle early in the game and was held to five points and three rebounds in 24 minutes.
NO. 14 TEXAS A&M 56, MISSOURI 52
In Columbia, Mo., Kelsey Bone scored 14 points and Alexia Standish added 11, including two critical free throws, as No. 14 Texas A&M (18-6, 9-4 Big 12) rallied to beat Missouri (10-14, 0-13).
The Aggies (18-6, 9-4 Big 12) trailed 50-45 when Morgan Eye made a 3-pointer for Missouri with 4:14 to play. Texas A&M scored the next 11 points, taking the lead for good on Tyra White’s basket with 51 seconds to play, to deny Missouri its first Big 12 win this season.
NO. 15 GEORGETOWN 60, VILLANOVA 54
In Villanova, Pa., Sugar Rodgers scored 19 points and Georgetown defeated Villanova.
The Hoyas (20-6, 9-4 Big East) were outshot 41.9 percent (18 of 43) to 34.4 percent (21 of 61) from the field but took advantage of Villanova’s (15-11, 5-8) mistakes.
NO. 19 LOUISVILLE 71, PITTSBURGH 66 (OT)
In Pittsburgh, Antonita Slaughter hit a jumper to force overtime, then had four points and a steal in the extra period to help Louisville (19-7, 8-5 Big East) defeat Pittsburgh (8-17, 0-12).
