Concussed Mallett could return today

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --- Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett could return to practice as early as today after suffering a concussion in a blowout loss to Auburn.


Coach Bobby Petrino said the junior showed no symptoms of the concussion Sunday.

LSU: Les Miles says he understands LSU's offense needs to be more productive Saturday when it travels to play unbeaten Auburn. Quarterbacks Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee were a combined 14 of 22 for only 103 yards.

ALABAMA: Coach Nick Saban said tackle D.J. Fluker (groin) is "very questionable" for Saturday's game with Tennessee but that wide receiver Julio Jones (broken hand) is fine.

NEBRASKA: Coach Bo Pelini said he doesn't know whether it was the right decision to pull Taylor Martinez on Saturday because Nebraska's problems went beyond quarterback play.

SEC AWARDS: Quarterbacks Cam Newton , of Auburn, and Mike Hartline , of Kentucky, are the co-Southeastern Conference offensive players of the week.

Georgia center Ben Jones was offensive lineman of the week, and quarterback Aaron Murray won freshman honors.

NORTH CAROLINA: Tight end Zack Pianalto will miss the rest of the season with a broken leg.

KICKOFF TIMES: The Georgia-Florida game on Oct. 30 will air on CBS-Ch. 12 at 3:30 p.m. South Carolina's game with Tennessee is at 12:21 p.m. on CBS-Ch. 12.
