ATLANTA — Former Glenn Hills standout Jerel Stephenson had 21 points, and the Paine men pulled out a 74-72 overtime win over Clark Atlanta on Saturday night.
Kenny Fluellen hit a 3-pointer to break a tie with 1:29 to play in the extra period, and the Lions (7-10, 5-4 SIAC) snapped a two-game skid.
Mario Jordan added 18 points for Paine. Allen Young chipped in 11.
Dwayne Bingham had 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead the slumping Panthers (2-13, 1-5).
USC AIKEN 100, FRANCIS MARION 82
In Aiken, Jesse Seilern matched a game-high with 21 points, and the USC Aiken men (12-5, 8-2) used a strong second half to secure a victory over Francis Marion (6-9, 2-7).
With the win, USC Aiken has sole possession of first place in the Peach Belt East Division.
NO. 6 USC AIKEN 69, FRANCIS MARION 58
In Aiken, Mia Antoine scored 16 points, Daniela Tarailo added 15, and USC Aiken (15-2, 8-2) beat Francis Marion (7-8, 2-7).
The Lady Pacers led by as many as 25 in the second half.
CLARK ATLANTA 67, PAINE 65
In Atlanta, Conisha Hicks scored 19 points as Clark Atlanta (9-8, 6-2) held off Paine (8-11, 6-3).
La’Quisha Lewis and Erika Sumpter each had double-doubles for the Lady Panthers. Lewis had 16 points and 12 boards, while Sumpter posted 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Ashley Watts led Paine with 19 points. Ariel Brown had 13 points and 14 rebounds, while Lashonda Canty had 13 points and 11 boards.
