D.J. Rivera. The Montevallo senior guard has gone from the outhouse to the penthouse this season.
Rivera, nephew of Hank Gathers, a former Loyola Marymount star who collapsed and died during a game in 1990, started his college career at St. Joseph’s before transferring to Binghamtom, where he was dismissed.
In March, he pleaded guilty to a felony count of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property after using a debit card another student lost at a party for $374 worth of goods, according to The Associated Press. Rivera found a new home this fall at Montevallo, and he now leads the Peach Belt Conference with a 25.1 scoring average.

USC Aiken (8-1, 2-0): The Pacers would be delighted to receive an eligible Alvin Brown for fall 2012.
Augusta State (6-3, 2-0): The Lady Jaguars need another good free-throw shooter.
